| Downloading Ringtones (or Graphics) by Wireless Internet (WAP) | |
| What to do when you receive the download link |
After sending yourself a ringtone using this site's free ringtones, you will receive a text message on your cell phone. Here is what to do from now on... (Note that the procedure is basically the same for graphics)
(This example uses the Siemens SL56 cell phone with a Windows XP computer. The procedure for other phones may vary but should be quite similar.)
Receiving the text message:
| _ |
|
This example: The message you receive contains nothing but an Internet link. Your goal is to follow that link. Use the arrow keys to go down to that link until it is highlighted. With the Siemens SL56, you can follow that link by pressing the "call" (green) key. Other phones: On other phones, there is usually a "Go to" or "Use link" option in the messages options that allow you to browse to the link included in the message. You may need to scroll down to the link and highlight it or it may be different. You need to be wise and search as the way to follow an email link varies greatly among different phones. We've even seen some phones on T-Mobile where following a link was done by first selecting "Save Address" then selecting the link and pressing "Connect" so stay alert and look for every possibility but the important thing to know is there SHOULD be a way to do that with your phone. |
Connecting...:

|
This example: Once you press that button, the Siemens SL56 reports that it is connecting (see the bottom of that screenshot). Other phones: All other phones will do something to report that they are trying to reach the link you just followed. Be patient, as this may take several seconds. |
