Digital Phones usually fall in three categories: TDMA, CDMA or GSM. Each cellular company use one of these technologies and most phones are designed to work only on one of these. In Europe and most parts of the world, all cellular companies use the GSM standard. But in North America, some companies use GSM while others use TDMA or CDMA.

There's a catch:
