Telenav is one of the most popular GPS software applications for the BlackBerry. But with a little help from Google Maps, Telenav gets even better.

Telenav is available for BlackBerrys on AT&T, Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon, as well as other North American carriers. For a small monthly fee, Telenav allows you to get the most out of your device's GPS. You can enter an address, intersection, business name, or landmark, and Telenav will find a route to your destination almost instantly. You can also load addresses into the application favorites from the Telenav Web site.

Google Maps is one of the most popular Web-based mapping applications. It allows you to find a route between two points and manipulate it to avoid highways, tolls, or other obstacles. With Google's Street View, you can see actual photographs of the streets along your route and the destination, so you know what you're looking for before you hit the road.

Working Together

Now you can send destination addresses from Google Maps directly to your Telenav GPS. When you find your desired destination in Google Maps, click on the Send link in the upper right corner of the map screen.

On the Send window, choose GPS from the menu, and choose Telenav as the brand. Then enter your BlackBerry phone number.

When you click Send, the destination address will be sent to your BlackBerry by SMS, and it will be added to Telenav the next time you launch the application. This method saves the time and frustration of having to type long addresses into Telenav from your BlackBerry.
