Have you called your cell phone service carrier and earned a lower wireless bill simply by asking for it? If so, how did you do it? Share your success stories here!

Saved $1500 over the course of 3 years.

The 3 year contract I had with my carrier was up and I was paying for the time being, month by month. I had a very old phone and was in the market to upgrade and possibly enter into a new plan if the deal was right. I called my provider to see what they would offer me if I remained loyal to their services. After all, several companies were offering different and sometimes better deals. I told them the options I had with other carriers and that if I were to stay with them, that I wanted a Blackberry. I complained that the data plan was too expensive for my budget. I could not justify paying close to $100 a month for email, sms, caller ID... the whole works, which is what I wanted. They lept at the opportunity to keep me as a customer and were more than willing to give me a great deal to lock me in for another 3 years. I was able to save $1500 over 3 years compared with the listed price of the plan. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain from a quick call.
