Virgin or T-Mobile 4 California- Prepay?

I have been using VIRGIN for several years now and have been quite happy with them. I am a snowbird and return to Canada in summer. I pay $40 for the time out of USA but the minutes accumulate. T-mobile To Go is said to be cheaper. Once I pay $100 to "go gold" I only have to buy $10 to extend it for each other year and I'm told my minutes will roll over. Not sure if this works well. I'm mainly in the LA area and occasionally drive to Vegas or SFO.

Straight Talk

Straight Talk is the way to go it's a good quality phone as well as stress free.Everybody is worrying about how many minutes they have to talk and how much money they have to spend. Thanks for a low budget phone that will give you peace of mind.

Tracphone

Tracphone may have lousy service, reps that hardly speak english, are hard to contact, and tough to deal with, but one thing I like....they are the cheapest for someone like myself who doesn't live my life with the darn phone stuck to my ear or in my hands, texting. I just need the thing in case I've "fallen and can't get up" type situations. $19.99 for 90 days, if my math is correct, is 80 ($80.00)bucks a year (less than $7.00/mo) and more than enough minutes for what I need......being just an "oldfarth". (I talk funny with my teeth out, but I think y'all get the name thing) ;-)Peace and love

The over all best Pre-Paid is Page Plus

The best service plan I found over all is with Page Plus- $29.95 + tax a month for 1200 minutes/ Text messages, and 50MB for data every month. Page Plus uses Verzion Wireless networks, but has banned the activation of many Smartphones, like my Treo 700w. Most likely due to being a well balanced plan for regular usage needs. It would cost $70+ a month to come close to this plan, if you wanted to setup with Verzion directly under their pre-paid plans.

Boost Mobile Unlimited @ $50/month

20100327_0341 EST Using the Motorola i776 phone, for which I'd give 3 out 5 stars For $50, inc. taxes, I get unlimited voice, texting-inc. text to landline, email, CID, and unlimited but all but useless Internet. The other really bad thing is that they lock you into purchasing ONLY their ringtones, applications, etc. I've heard that ringtones can be cracked in via bluetooth but it's not something their reps would ever admit. I've got some bluetooth adapters on order so I'll find out for sure next week. We recently made a trip from NW Ohio to southern Virginia and with the exception of a few dead spots in the mountains of West Virginia, we had very reliable service. VQ is pretty good but does sometimes sound garbled. ----------------------------------- A longgggg time ago I had a contract w/Alltel and always felt screwed when it came time to pay the bill. It seemed they were always finding ways to tack on extra fees. But at least they were jerks on the phone about everything.

Verizon Fraud

Verizon Wireless sold me two phones, each with a $50 rebate. Followed all the instructions, except didn't copy the UPC label. They got to keep my rebate, but I canceled both lines. I guess Verizon does not have a retention department, because they are way too big to care about one customer. Avoid Verizon contracts like the plague, they are guaranteed to break them.

Choices

I was using prepaid AT&T service for a while and felt like I was getting ripped off with the price. I wanted a regular plan but because I have bad credit everybody wanted a huge deposit! My bff found a internet place that I got a Verizon plan with and didnt pay a deposit. Its not prepaid either. Its called wirelesswithout.com and they have been really awesome. I dont even give them my credit card information, I pay the bill how I want. Just another way for people like me anyway.

Prepaid the way to go!

Used to be with Virgin - bad experience all round. I still believe prepaid is the way to go so I use the NET10 prepaid plan now. NET10 excels at making your cell experience a painless one. Their pricing plans are simply but inexpensive, they do not charge 'daily usage' rates or add hidden charges to your bill, you always know what your balance is, and they have excellent international calling rates - much less than the other prepaid providers. Plus, now if you buy a new NET10 phone they give you 300 minutes and 2 months service free! Best prepaid offer out there IMHO.

Try NET10 for better service

I use the NET10 sevice and am very happy with it! They charge 10c a minute, always and everywhere, so you always know how much you're paying. Roaming? No worries, no charge. I've seen other carriers advertise 10c a minute but they generally charge a 'daily use' fee too, so it ends up being much more expensive.

They all lie!

I handle finances in our household and can't believe what companies do to us for the almightly dollar. Is there no return loyalty to their loyal customers? I never used my minutes so left Sprint in favor of Virgin Mobile (which has worked out great for my 7-minutes a month maximum). I was so tired of the "fine print" with Sprint and anxiously awaited my contract expiration date. The day following the expiration I was told I had to pay another month because I had to come in on the exact day because they had no way of calculating partial months and was told to keep a small balance on my account so that I could sell-back our two family plan phones. Today I was told that as of three weeks ago they no longer buy back phones unless I was buying another contract. They did not cancel my contract when I asked and have added late charges so that since stopping my contract and trying to find out how to pay off my $40 bill with Sprint, with late charges I am now being sued for $252!

virgin

we have had our virgin phones for more than 7 years. virgin is the original prepaid phone service. unlike these fake bandwagon top 3 carriers. my wife, myself, my mom, my brother all use virgin. never had any issues. i would NEVER buy a contract phone. when you add time, it is instant! or they have so many other options now to choose from. but we also don't use our phones like everyone else trying to be cool.anyways i tell people virgin should pay me to be a spokesmen.

My vote is for Straight Talk

I'm a recent convert to Straight Talk and so far, I have no complaints. Finally, a cell phone plan that's both affordable and reliable. I'm saving $50/month plus get to remain on the Verizon Network. The only regeret is that I did not make the switch earlier!

Straight Talk Saver

I changed over to Straight talk as I was paying way to much on contract before. I now save more than $50 a month and get much better value. The $30 1000 minutes, 1000 messages and 30mb data is more than sufficient. I love the fact that the reception and coverage is so great. Using my phone is so simple and easy now.
